Abdiel Jacobsen, born in Côte d’Ivoire in Africa is a former Principal Dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Company. They are also a Certified Professional Smooth Ballroom and Rhythm dance instructor by Arthur Murray Dance International where they began their ballroom dance training.
Abdiel’s Professional Competitive Ballroom dance awards includes Same-Sex Smooth Pro Ballroom National 1st place and Dancesport Pro National Open American Smooth Ballroom 3rd place. Abdiel also won 1st place for the World Latin Dance Cup Salsa in 1 division. They were a featured guest artist partnering with prima ballerina Diana Vishneva’s "Dialogues". Abdiel have been featured in the original musical production of "Dragon Spring Phoenix Rise" directed by Chen Shi-Zheng with choreography by Akram Khan for The Shed NYC.
They want to create and perform works of art that Ignite and Unite while imagining the possibilities in order to benefit our greater society.
